How I gained 100 million views on youtube

When I first started my YouTube channel back in 2016, I didn’t imagine it’d become as massive as it is. In the past 7 years, it’s given me countless opportunities and helped me to become one of the most well known figures in the skilled trades industry.

7 years, half a million subscribers, and 100 million video views later - I’m still creating and YouTube has become a core part of my business. If you want to make it apart of your business as well, follow these steps:

  1. Know Your Audience:

Understanding your target audience is the first step to creating content that resonates. Conduct thorough research to identify your audience's interests, preferences, and the type of content that performs well within your niche. Tailoring your content to your audience's preferences increases the likelihood of attracting and retaining viewers.

  2. Create High Quality Content:

Quality is paramount on YouTube. Invest time and effort into producing videos with crisp visuals, clear audio, and engaging storytelling. Whether it's entertaining, educational, or a combination of both, your content should add value to your viewers' lives. Use professional equipment, focus on editing, and continuously improve your skills to stand out in the crowded YouTube landscape.

  3. Consistency Is Key:

Building a dedicated audience requires consistency. Develop a content schedule and stick to it. Whether you post weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly, maintaining a consistent upload schedule helps build anticipation and trust among your viewers. Regular content also increases your chances of appearing in YouTube's algorithm recommendations.

  4. Engage With Your Community:

Build a sense of community around your channel by actively engaging with your audience. Respond to comments, ask for feedback, and consider incorporating audience suggestions into your content. Encourage viewers to like, share, and subscribe, and consider running contests or giveaways to boost engagement.

  5. Leverage Social Media:

Promote your videos on other social media platforms to extend your reach. Create teaser content, share behind-the-scenes footage, and leverage trending hashtags to increase visibility. Collaborate with other content creators within your niche to tap into their audiences and broaden your reach. In my case, you’ll probably see #plumbing on 99% of my posts.

  6. Harness The Power Of SEO:

Optimize your video content for search engines by utilizing relevant keywords in your titles, descriptions, and tags. Conduct keyword research to identify terms with high search volumes and low competition. This will improve your video's chances of appearing in search results and recommendations.

  7. Ride The Trends

Stay on top of current trends and incorporate them into your content where relevant. Creating videos around trending topics can increase the likelihood of your content being discovered by a broader audience, taking advantage of the momentum generated by popular topics.

And last but not least, realize that this YouTube thing is a marathon and not a sprint. It’ll take time, dedication, consistency, numerous setbacks and failures, and then you reach the point you were trying to get to and realize that there’s always much more further to go.

If you’ve supported me on this journey, thank you. I’m going to keep pumping out more great videos, and do what I love!
