You won’t believe what this grinds up!

Have you ever wondered about the difference between a sewer ejector pump and a grinder pump? A sewer ejector pump, also known as a sump pump, helps move sewer water and waste into the main plumbing lines. Like its name says, it’s a basic pump.

Now a grinder pump is something else. It’s sort of like a garbage disposal for your sewage, tearing things up into tiny pieces before pumping it out, greatly reducing the chances of things getting clogged. So if you’re tired of your sump pump getting clogged, this may be just the thing you need.

Now I reached out to Zoeller because I know they make some of the best pumps on the market, and they sent me 3 great pumps to look at. And I’ll tell you, these pumps are the real deal.

The 803 is perfect for tight spaces, but still with enough power to grind through most things you’re likely to find in your sewer system. The 820 steps it up with more power. Those stainless steel blades are no joke. But the big one, the 840, can even be used in commercial use. One of the things I like best about it; reversing blades that automatically change direction with each cycle.

We used the model 807 for some testing, and we put it through a lot. If you’ve seen my videos, you know how I feel about baby wipes in the sewer system. They have a plastic coating on them that prevents them from dissolving. But the Zoeller grinder pump took care of it with no trouble at all.

We added latex gloves, feminine products, even a shop rag, and in the end everything was mush.
